American Ambassador David Hale joined the Minister of State for Data Expertise and Telecommunication Anusha Rahman to launch the US Company for Worldwide Improvement (USAID) supported Problem Fund.
The Problem Fund will help the expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the hospitality and Data Communications Expertise (ICT) sectors of Pakistan. The fund may even present incentives for the event and progress of recent and modern concepts that can profit each the non-public sector and shopper.
The USAID-supported Problem Fund will present funding alternatives to startups and SMEs via two grant programmes i.e Innovation Grants and Progress Grants.
Whereas talking on the occasion, American Ambassador David Hale mentioned,
“America is dedicated to cultivating small- and medium-sized companies in Pakistan, creating jobs, fostering entrepreneurship and increasing the nation’s financial system. We’re assured that the small seeds planted via this program will assist remodel concepts into worthwhile realities.”
Innovation Grants will supply awards between $20,000 and $24,500 to handle sector-wide challenges recognized by USAID. Grantees that successfully implement their resolution will then have a possibility to use for a bigger scale-up Problem Grant between $50,000 and $400,000. Progress grants which are valued between $20,000 and $50,000, will help the growth of established SMEs by financing it to fulfill the upper challenges.
USAID’s five-year SME Exercise goals to enhance the monetary and operational efficiency of SMEs in Pakistan particularly within the Data and Communication centered fields comparable to mild engineering, textile, hospitality, minerals, and packaging sectors.
